On the occasion of the 12th International Holocaust Remembrance Day on 27 January, numerous memorial events are being held in Milan. One of the most significative is the unveiling of the first commemorative plaque on platform 21 of Milan's Stazione Centrale where convoys for the Auschwitz concentration camp departed from. The plaque is the first of 20 number plates that will be installed to remember all convoys of deportees that left Milan and never came back.
